A few months ago, I was scrolling YouTube just in the same way I used to do and found a video with title to ‘increase students productivity’ and I started watching that. I got many lessons from that video and one of them was Pomodoro Technique. It was new to me at that time and I acted on this in my last semester exams and it produces outstanding result for a slow person like who has no productivity.

Now, while taking Amal Academy’s course on Productivity and Time Management , I came across this Pomodoro Technique again but this time with the different concept slightly. This time I have to put a timer for 25 minutes otherwise I was using 45 minutes timer. So I thought of experimenting on new concept this time.

My Previous concept

Firstly, Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.

Experiment:

I thought of testing this technique with 25 minutes and for this I set a timer for 25 minutes and started taking Amal Course. During this time I place my mobile away from me and put it to sleep. I write down the different thoughts came to mind during that period and after 25 minutes my focus was still on and instead of taking break I reset that timer and keep on taking course. I took a 10 minutes break after focus of 50 minutes (25+25) and relaxed myself. And that cycle goes on until I completed the whole course.

My thoughts:

This experiment was not that difficult for me. I really enjoyed doing that. It not only increases my productivity and save a lot of time but also gives me a sense of satisfaction. I accomplished more tasks by acting on this method.

But honestly, I would like to accept that idea of 25 minutes didn’t work for me as 25 minutes ended so early. Yes, 45 to 50 minutes focus and 10 minutes break is much more suitable for me.

I am thinking of applying this idea into my life regularly from now on as it is useful for me. I am planning to focus on my tasks and at the same time, reduce my focus on social media and cell phone using this technique. I will also share this with my friend and siblings.
